The US post/black metal band VATTNET VISKAR debuted in 2013 on Century Media Records with it full-length opus “Sky Swallower” which tremendously well combined rawness, gloomy heaviness and folkish, almost jazzy passages appealing to black metal fans and listeners into Neurosis, Isis alike.
Pitchfork previously described their sound as “awe-inspiring, violently gorgeous” and “Settler”, the band’s 2015 album successfully expands on this and marks another outstanding release from the highly productive and innovative US scene. Recorded at Earth Analog Studios with producer Sanford Parker (Minsk, VOIVOD, Twilight), “Settler” is an astonishing sonic feast highly recommended to fans of Wolves In The Throne Room, Deafheaven, Lantlos, Agalloch and features striking artwork by multimedia artist Josh Graham (ex-Neurosis, Soundgarden).
