Ten years after its original release, Blood Incantation’s landmark debut album ‘Starspawn’ returns in a special 10th Anniversary LP Edition.
Originally released in 2016, ‘Starspawn’ introduced Blood Incantation’s singular vision of death metal: intricate and otherworldly, combining labyrinthine riffs and crushing heaviness with progressive songwriting and vast cosmic atmosphere. Recorded entirely analogue at World Famous Studios in Colorado, with the band performing largely live to tape without click tracks, its raw and organic production became an essential part of the album’s identity.
What began with ‘Starspawn’ has since evolved into one of the most distinctive evolutions in contemporary heavy music. Blood Incantation have become a defining force in modern extreme music, with 2024’s ‘Absolute Elsewhere’ marking their definitive breakthrough – transcending genre boundaries and bringing the band’s singular vision to an audience far beyond death metal.
For its 10th anniversary, ‘Starspawn’ receives a special lacquer cut by Jaakko Viitalähde and is pressed on premium EcoRecord with a three-color INKPLOSION™ effect. EcoRecord’s PET material and precision injection-moulding process provide ultra-smooth groove surfaces designed to reduce background noise and improve sonic transparency, stable dynamics and precise spatial imaging.
The anniversary edition is presented in an upgraded gatefold sleeve with matt/gloss finish, 4-page LP booklet and poster – a special new edition of the album that opened the Stargate in 2016.
